After graduating from Macalester College, I worked for Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, taught documentary film production at Cuenca University, and wrote scripts for the Travel Channel, CourtTV, and the Discovery Channel. I went back to school in 2004 to research advertising and consumer culture. I recently defended my thesis, co-founded the NAMLE Graduate Student Caucus, and am currently developing a dissertation about television ads that make fun of themselves.
