Remember those famous "What Would Jesus Do?" bracelets? They were invented in my hometown. In the early 1980's, my Dad started teaching a class in the Religion department at the local Christian college called "Love and Sex" and all hell broke loose. Over the years, times have certainly changed; pornography is now available at the click of a button. So, now that my Dad's students are all grown up and living in a culture of constant temptation, how are they raising their own sons to be good Christian men? I went home to find out. The Not-So-Secret Service
I am developing a radio piece in the style of "This American Life" which takes a nostalgic look back at a pre-9/11 world. In 1983, 9-year-old Josh Miles, armed with only his Fisher-Price tape recorder, tried to muscle his way into the house of a presidential candidate. Twenty years later, I caught up with Josh and asked him to reflect on the significance of his first "scoop."
